This Japanese term translates as “…that which makes life worth living.”

The book contains two forewords (in english and german language) written by Thomas Leuthard and Siegfried Hansen. Both are unrivalled icons of german street photography who have had a huge influence on my style.
“ikigai” follows on from my first book “akribie” – both are designed as visual counterparts. Like negative and print, they are intended to complement each other as part of my photographic journey.
